Lululemon grand opening

Friday June 19 was the date of the store’s opening of Lululemon at the shopping mall Place Ste-Foy in Quebec City. The arrival of the Canadian company was eagerly awaited by the yoga enthusiasts and the sporty people. I was also waiting impatiently for the store’s opening! Every Lululemon Athletica store have a unique design that is inspired by the environment where the boutique is located. For Quebec City, they made a boutique that looks simply stunning with a decor that is inspired by the cold season with a Scandinavian touch. The famous Hôtel de Glace has been the central point of the design to create a place that will looks like the people of Quebec City.
Last Saturday, I had the pleasure of attending the launch of the store. A wonderful evening where I discovered the boutique (and select my favourite pieces), but also where I met the super friendly team of Lululemon. A lovely interior garden was setup to welcome the guests and to celebrate this event in a relax and festive atmosphere.
Why can we not be pretty in a yoga class? Well, Lululemon allows you ! I adore their clothes because they're always ultra-comfy and super stylish. We fall in love with Lululemon because they are offering amazing collections for mens and womens, they’re promoting some nice values and they’re establishing links with the community. Indeed, their local ambassadors are organizing regularly sessions and events. This is the Lululemon philosophy, to create links and to have a strong relashionship with the community. For the yoga lovers of Quebec city, you are awaited every Saturday mornings this summer for an outside yoga session on the Grand Théâtre site.

Trend alert : midi skirt

Skirts don’t have to be really short to be cute ! Today I’m introducing you a new piece that I added to my wardrobe, the midi skirt. Pleasantly surprised to observe that I can wear it without seem to have come straight out of Stepford wives. I really love the look and I’m really happy to dare this summer trend!

As a huge fan of maxi skirts, I don’t know why I don’t fond before for midi skirts. A nice piece that remind us the vintage look of the 50’s.  It’s also really comfy because it’s so full and pouffy! I also adore the outsize pocket in front of the skirt. I see myself wearing a lot of theses in the next few months.

I found this awesome skirt at my all time favorite store (Zara of course) and I’m wearing it with a super cute pink crop top. I also fell for a superb pair of high heels perfect for summa. A colorful, chic and refreshing look to start the hot season.

You're making me blush

After buying this ensemble at Simons last month, I was eager to wear it. This has been my favorite purchase of the season. I found those pieces when it was still snowing outside and had to put them away, waiting for a nicer weather. Today, I can finally wear this adorable pink ensemble.

I have a thing for high waist pants that are lightweight and comfortable. Let’s also talk about this cute top and the boyfriend jacket that goes with it. Those three pieces make the perfect trio. Being clothed from head to toe with neutral color is a must because you can easily match them with other pieces of clothing. The beige pumps and this cute pink feather bag where the only missing elements to complete this outfit.

P.S : This ensemble is now on sale at Simons!

My everyday hair look

Today, I am sharing with you my favorite hair look. Most of the time, I usually go for curly hair instead of straight by preference. The style I am showing you today is a relax and super easy one to reproduced. Also, this is the perfect look for summer where waves have become more and more popular over the past years. For this article, I am teaming up with my friend and long-time hair dresser, Charles-Antoine Bussières. He is THE pro for curls and all his clients always leave his salon with the perfect head. If you want to get this hairstyle, just keep on reading the following steps :

First of all, you’ll need to do this on clean hair. You will then seperate you hair in 4 sections in order to ease the curling process. Use a straightener or a curling iron of an inch and a half (don’t go smaller than that, otherwise you won’t get the best result). Keep one section and clip away all the other sections that are left uncurled. Then, just take a big strand of hair and curl it with your iron upside down to get a more natural finish. Curl the reste of the section.

When you’re done with a section, let another one down and repeat the same steps. Afterward, flip your head and apply some spray to set the curls.

To complete the look, gently brush your hair or go through the curls with your fingers to relax them. If needed, apply a glossy spray to the ends to make your hair more shiny. There you go! Perfect hair in less than 15 minutes !

Made With Love

Mondays are not that bad when you have something exciting to do after work. Two days ago, I passed a wonderful night at Fairmont Le Château Frontenac for the 3rd edition of the most important competition of mixology in Canada that is called Made With Love. This was such a nice event with the best 21 mixologists of Quebec City and more than 1500 guests.

Made With Love is a challenge that oppose the best barmans of the city again each other. Quebec City was the first edition of a serial of four. There will be three others contests in Calgary, Winnipeg and Edmonton before the final competition. They're all in competition to be declared the best mixologist of the city and have the opportunity to go to the national final.

Every barman is trying to make the most delicious, original and fabulous cocktail to impress the judges and the public. Each restaurant is also offering a yummy appetizer that is matching with the cocktail. The guests can enjoy a cocktail from each station and vote for their favourite. I had a really great time trying a lot of tasty cocktails. I love the concept of this event because it’s a moment where you can enjoy the creavity and the talent of the participants that are searching their passion for the mixology.

Sébastien Laframboise from l'Auberge La Goeliche was the favorite of the judges with a Disaronno and celeriac cocktail. Marc-André Fillion from Société Cuisine et Mixologie won the public price with a cocktail made with Rhum Appleton.

Vichy favorites

I would love to share with you guys a brand of products that I’ve been using for many years now. Vichy is offering a huge selection of skin and body care. They have choices for all skin type. I have a really sensitive skin so it’s important for me to use high quality products. If you want an healty skin, you must add Vichy products to your beauty routine.  I had the chance to test some of their new products and I would love to present you my favorites. Vichy works for me!

This body and face protection is everything ! Idéal Soleil is offering a high protection UVA/UVB with a SPF 50. But the best characteristic of this sun protector is the texture. The spray is leaving just a fresh layer on the skin without this unpleasant feeling of sticky skin.

The Ideal Body Serum-Milk is also a really nice product of Vichy. When I’m loooking for a body lotion, I’m looking for hydratation and absorption. The Serum-Milk is perfect ! It’s a really delicate body care with a sweet, flowery and not overpowering perfume. I’m using it right after the shower and my skin feel amazing.

I also love these two products of the Pureté Thermale collection. The Freshcleaning gel is perfect to remove all the impurities and to go to bed with a clean and fresh skin. The Beautifying cleasing micellar oil is a really efficient make-up remover. A great product to remove dead skin cells and excess sebum.

Black + white stripped jumpsuit

Flashy, different and original, this English Factory jumpsuit is what I can call a great find!  I found this striped jumpsuit on Topshop website and I absolutely love him (unfortunately it’s now sold out). I really hesitated to allow me to wear stripes considering my size. I was affraid to look shorter and that the stripes would not favor my silhouette. Finally, it was fitting perfectly with a pair of black high heels! Futhermore, let’s notice the cropped fold-over panel that is great to cut the print. A beautiful purchase that I don’t regret at all !
